What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness is noticing what's happening right now and not getting carried away by it.
---Dan Harris
Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment. ---Greater Good Berkeley
"Mindfulness is paying attention to the present moment with kindness and curiosity and then choosing our response."
--Dr. Amy Saltzman
Mindfulness also involves acceptance, meaning that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them—without believing, for instance, that there’s a “right” or “wrong” way to think or feel in a given moment. When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we’re sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.
--Greater Good Berkeley
Mindfulness is a life skill that helps children learn self-regulation, improve attention skills, build resiliency, and develop more compassion for themselves and others. A life skill that can improve overall health and well-being.
